Wife and her secret lover are accused of killing husband with a hatchet

A woman and her secret lover have been charged with the hatchet murder of her husband.

Bdour Mohammed-Ali Al-Yasari, 28, and Jacob Joseph Ficher, 27, were charged with the February 4 murder of Ammar Al-Yasari in Holt, Mighican, as new details about the case emerged in court this week.

After Ammar was found dead inside his home, Bdour at first admitted to police that she had a secret lover, but refused to name him, according to court documents reported by WILX-TV.

Eventually, Bdour named Ficher - whom police say was also named as the wife's love interest by several anonymous tipsters in the community.

One source described Ficher as 'mentally unstable'. Another told cops that he was in love with Bdour and would 'do anything for her'.

A search of Ficher's home revealed damning evidence. Cops say they found a receipt and packaging for a camp ax, also known as a hatchet, purchased at a local Kroger.

Investigators believe that Ammar's fatal wounds are consistent with the hatchet, which was purchased four days before the murder.

When investigators followed up with the Kroger location where the hatchet was purchased, they found surveillance tapes of Bdour dropping Ficher off at the store, and Ficher purchasing the hatchet.

Cops also traced Ficher's bus card, which showed him taking public transit to Delhi Township near the Al-Yasaris' home on the day of the murder. A neighbor reported seeing a strange man enter the home around the same time.

Police say that Ficher has no alibi for the day of the murder, and that he was absent from work without calling in on that day.

Ficher's roommate was also detained for questioning in the case. The roommate at first denied any knowledge of the murder, but later admitted that he had heard Ficher and Bdour discussing killing Ammar.

Other witnesses told police that they had seen Ficher and his roommate out to eat in Holt, and had overheard Fischer talking about the murder with the roommate. The roommate has not been charged in the case.

Ficher is a native of Chico, California according to his Facebook profile.

Both he and Bdour face open murder charges. Bdour has also been charged with conspiracy to murder.

They are being held without bond in Ingham County Jail, and are due in court on March 14. It was unclear whether either had an attorney who could comment on their behalf.
